The Opportunity

We are seeking an exceptional, senior marketing leader to join us as Head of Marketing. This is a pivotal, strategic role responsible for shaping and delivering an ambitious marketing, brand, and student recruitment strategy aligned to institutional growth objectives.

You will operate at a senior level, working closely with the Strategic Leadership Team to position Bloomsbury Institute as a distinctive, high-quality higher education provider in a competitive UK and international market.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead the development and execution of a bold, insight-led marketing and student recruitment strategy.
  • Act as a senior advisor to the Strategic Leadership Team on brand, market positioning, and growth opportunities.
  • Own and evolve the Bloomsbury Institute brand, ensuring clarity, consistency, and differentiation.
  • Drive domestic and international student recruitment through integrated, multi-channel campaigns.
  • Oversee digital transformation of marketing, including performance marketing, CRM, website optimisation, and marketing automation.
  • Use data, analytics, and market intelligence to inform strategic decisions and optimise ROI.
  • Build, lead, and inspire a high-performing marketing, communications, and digital team.
  • Manage agency relationships and external partners to deliver best-in-class campaigns.
  • Collaborate with academic leadership to align programme portfolios with market demand.
  • Ensure compliance with sector regulations and best practice in student marketing. 

Person Specification 

  • Significant marketing experience, including demonstrable experience in a senior marketing leadership role within higher education.
  • Proven track record of delivering measurable growth in student recruitment and brand performance.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to link marketing strategy to institutional revenue and growth targets.
  • Deep understanding of digital marketing ecosystems, CRM systems, and data-driven marketing.
  • Ability to influence and inspire across a complex organisation.
