About the Courtauld
The Courtauld is an internationally renowned centre for the teaching and research of art history and a major public gallery. Founded by collectors and philanthropists in the 1930s, the organisation has been at the forefront of the study of art ever since, through advanced research and conservation practice, innovative teaching, the renowned collection and inspiring exhibitions of its gallery, and engaging and accessible activities, education and events.
This is an exciting time to join the Courtauld. We are expanding into new programme areas alongside widening access and embarking on a capital programme to build a world-class campus at Somerset House that will reunite the work of the Courtauld Gallery and Institute into one state-of-the-art facility.
Deputy Academic Registrar (Data and Systems)
The Deputy Academic Registrar (Data and Systems) will play an important role in our small, ambitious specialist institution of 725 students, weighted towards postgraduate students. Reporting to the Academic Registrar, the Deputy Academic Registrar (Data and Systems) will be responsible for the Courtauld’s student record system (SITS), ensuring that it and related student systems are optimised for the delivery of business processes, student administration, operational reporting, external returns and high quality management information.
The postholder will play an active senior role in shaping the Student and Academic Services department, and in guiding its interactions with other departments across the Courtauld and with external regulatory bodies.
The role holder will ensure that student data is compliant, accessible, futureproof and of the highest quality at all times and will have strategic oversight for systems, processes, training provision and reporting that safeguards the robustness of the student records and related student systems. This includes overseeing the strategic planning, preparation and submission of the Courtauld’s student data statutory returns for external agencies, including the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) and Office for Students (OfS) and other external returns within the team portfolio, ensuring their timely and accurate production.
Highly effective people management, setting standards for performance and culture, and interpersonal skills are a pre-requisite.
