The Role
As a Teaching Support Technician (Anatomy), your principal focus will be to provide technical support within the Veterinary Anatomy laboratories, supporting academic staff and students during anatomy teaching sessions and lab placements.
Working closely with the Senior Anatomy Technician and the wider technical team, you will be involved in a wide range of practical activities including:
This role provides a fantastic opportunity to develop skills in anatomy laboratory work, dissection/prosection techniques, and model development while supporting teaching across all five years of the Veterinary Medicine programme.
About You
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a practical approach to work and a genuine interest in veterinary science or laboratory-based support.
You will ideally have experience in a laboratory or veterinary environment and be confident working safely with biological samples. You�ll enjoy being part of a busy team, working to tight schedules, and supporting teaching delivery in a professional and collegiate manner.
You will also have:
Formal qualifications are welcomed (HNC, A Level, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent), but relevant practical experience in a technical or scientific role is equally valuable.
Physical Requirements
This is a physically demanding role. The post holder must be physically fit and able to lift/carry at least 13kg, with heavier loads moved using lifting equipment or with assistance.
The role also requires driving a large Transit-type vehicle to off-site locations including abattoirs and other establishments.
Working Pattern
The role requires flexibility to work between 08:00�18:00, Monday to Friday, on a pre-determined rota.
