They will also be required to assist with the direction of studies for students and take part in the admissions process for both colleges.
The appointment is for three years in the first instance, starting on 1 September 2026 with the possibility of appointment without named period after this time. This salary is pensionable under the University Superannuation Scheme (USS). Service as director of studies is separately remunerated and the successful candidate is likely to be asked to serve as director of studies in both colleges for students on the Sociology track and the joint Sociology/Political track as well as to students in the first year of the HSPS tripos.
The successful candidate would also have the opportunity in the future to serve as a Pastoral Tutor to a panel of either Undergraduate or Postgraduate students at Gonville & Caius College (remunerated separately).
The successful candidate will be appointed as a College Lecturer and elected to a Fellowship of Gonville & Caius College to be held for the duration of their tenure as Assistant/Associate Professor of Gonville & Caius College.
