Working within the Student Recruitment and Widening Participation team the postholder will coordinate the Student Ambassador Scheme, supporting ambassador recruitment, training, scheduling and administration to ensure a high-quality experience for prospective students. The role will also coordinate key recruitment and outreach activity, including enquiry management, campus tours and Post-16 campus visits.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys coordinating people and activity, working with students, and supporting access to higher education.
About You
You will have experience coordinating or supporting a student ambassador, volunteer or peer workforce, and delivering small to medium-scale events or outreach activity.
You will demonstrate strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities accurately. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, a strong customer-focused approach, and confidence using IT systems and digital tools, including CRM systems and Microsoft applications.
Experience of working within higher education or a comparable education, public service or community-focused environment, and experience of delivering presentations or workshops, would be an advantage.
About the School Department
The role sits within the Student Recruitment and Widening Participation team, part of the wider Marketing and Widening Participation function in the External Relations Directorate. The team is responsible for recruiting students across the UK, with a particular focus on supporting students from under-represented backgrounds to access higher education and progress successfully. Through events, outreach, ambassador-led activity and digital engagement, the team delivers activity aligned to Queen Mary’s Access and Participation Plan priorities and plays a key role in promoting the University’s educational offer and supporting Strategy 2030.
