About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a keen interest and passion for postgraduate teaching to work within a Department offering high quality competitive postgraduate taught programmes.

The National Heart and Lung Institute is seeking to appoint a Teaching Fellow to join a team of passionate educators teaching on our MSc Allergy programme.  The programme offers PG cert, PG Dip and MSc qualifications.  You will be working alongside the Programme Directors; Module Leads and NHS staff to deliver the programme. 

What you would be doing:

You will support an excellent student experience and help NHLI’s academic and teaching staff to deliver a world-class education in Allergy through responsibilities including:

  • Providing guidance and support to Module Leaders including developing timetables and updating teaching materials
  • Acting as module lead on two modules:
  • Diagnosis and Treatment of Allergic Disease
  • MSc Project Module (Research Skills in Allergy)
  • Delivering hybrid teaching and assessments via various learning platforms
  • Developing of marking criteria and assessment processes across all modules and research projects.

What we are looking for:

  • The successful candidate will hold a BSc (or equivalent) in a relevant health sciences or biomedical discipline as well as teaching experience in a Higher Education setting.
  • A higher degree or PhD in a relevant subject is desirable.
  • You must be able to work well within a team environment, have enthusiasm for teaching and willingness to learn new skills to support education.
