About the role

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Oxford Vaccine Group in the Department of Paediatrics as our Clinical Operations Manager.

You will play an important role in the successful execution of the UK clinical trial research portfolio..

You will be responsible for supporting the development of high-quality research documents, efficient resource management and adherence to regulations and provide effective support through great communication and organisational skills.

You will be working in a growing department within the Medical Sciences Division. The Department of Paediatrics is a world leader in child health research and hosts internationally renowned research programmes in drug development, gastroenterology, haematology, HIV, immunology, neuroimaging, neuromuscular diseases and vaccinology. The Oxford Vaccine Group under the lead of Professor Sir Andrew Pollard conducts research into important outbreak pathogens including Marburg and Ebola. The team are running pioneering studies on experimental controlled human challenge studies for viral and bacterial infections and phase I – III vaccine studies to transform human health.

This position is offered full-time on a fixed-term contract initially for 3 years with the possibility to extend provided further external funding is available. Part-time applications may be considered (with a minimum of 24 weekly hours)

About you

You will have a proven ability in clinical trial delivery and operational planning with demonstrable experience of managing multiple projects at various stages of development. You will possess a strong working knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) with the ability to problem solve, motivate and manage people. You will have highly effective verbal and written communication skills with all level of staff and an ability to operate effectively in a demanding and fast-paced research environment.
