Applications are invited from suitably qualified / experienced members of the legal profession in Scotland for the delivery of legal programmes and modules in the school of Business and Creative Industries. Applicants will be expected to demonstrate the nature of their professional experience in their application documentation.
The Post – Senior Lecturer in Scots Private Law
We are seeking an experienced academic to lead the teaching and development of core Law modules across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, with a particular focus on Scots Private Law. The role includes regular review of course content, the creation of engaging and innovative learning experiences, and ensuring all teaching meets School and University quality standards. The post holder will also supervise dissertations at all levels and contribute to curriculum development, student skills enhancement, and innovation in assessment. A developed research profile is highly desirable, with expectations to engage in research, knowledge exchange, and scholarly activity aligned with the School’s strategic priorities.
The successful candidate will provide high‑quality academic and pastoral support to students while playing an active role in the broader activities of the School. Responsibilities may include line management within the Division, leadership in research and KE strategy implementation, collaboration with external partners, and contribution to funded research and joint publications. The post holder will also support student recruitment, marketing, outreach activities, and may be involved in CPD development and delivery as part of a balanced workload.
