The University of Huddersfield is seeking an experienced and proactive Property Manager to play a key role in the strategic and operational management of the University’s property portfolio.
Reporting to the University Space Manager, this new role is responsible for managing the University’s buildings, land and commercial property assets. You will oversee leases, acquisitions and disposals, valuations, tenant relationships, compliance and financial performance, ensuring the estate supports the University’s strategic ambitions, including its commitment to sustainability and progress towards zero carbon emissions.
With a degree in a relevant discipline such as real estate, property management or surveying, or be able to demonstrate equivalent professional experience, you will have experience of working within a large and/or complex organisation and possess strong communication, negotiation, financial management and data analysis skills. Alongside a sound understanding of property law, construction and sustainability policies, you will bring excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively as part of a wider team. A commitment to service excellence, continuous improvement, equality, diversity and inclusion, and outstanding customer service is essential.
Experience with property databases and computer aided facilities management (CAFM) systems would be beneficial.
Membership of the Chartered Management Institute, or a requirement to commence this within the first 12 months of appointment, is also required.
