We are seeking a Technician / Demonstrator in Built Environment to join the School of Engineering and Built Environment. This role will support teaching, research, and student learning across a range of built environment disciplines, with particular focus on civil engineering materials and soils laboratories, whilst also supporting geospatial/land surveying practical classes.
Working closely with academic staff and students, you will play an important role in supporting practical teaching sessions, laboratory activities, and student projects. You will help ensure specialist facilities are well maintained, safe to use, and effectively support the delivery of teaching and learning.
Key responsibilities include:
Applicants should hold a degree or equivalent experience in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, or a related Built Environment discipline. Experience operating and maintaining laboratory or technical equipment, particularly within areas such as materials and geotechnical testing or land surveying, would be advantageous. You will have strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff and students while managing your own workload effectively. A commitment to maintaining safe working practices and delivering high-quality technical support is essential.
