About this role
The UWE Student Access and Enabling Admin Team coordinates the running of the Disability Service, the Wellbeing Service, UWE Cares and Access Learning Strategies.
The Administration Team provides assistance to a range of customers including applicants, students, parents, staff and external agencies from application stage through to graduation.
The admin team are often the first point of contact for students engaging with a university support service, and will offer a friendly, knowledgeable and efficient response.
It is expected that this position will primarily support the Disability Service and a portion of the week will support the Wellbeing Service. This arrangement will vary at times when the workload is high or there is staff absence.
About you
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the admin team. We are a progressive university with lots of exciting IT changes coming. You will need to be solution-focused, adaptable and enjoy variety within your role.
You will need excellent attention to detail. You will be processing personal and sensitive information for disabled people so you should have experience of working with Data Protection regulations.
We are looking for someone who has excellent communication and customer care skills and who can approach their work in a calm and positive manner. At times you may have conversations with a caller or visitor who is concerned about their own or another person’s welfare, and they may present in distress. Your role will be to provide information, signposting, to book an appointment, to link in or pass on to a colleague, and to accurately record notes on your interaction.
Where you will be working
In this role, you’ll be based at our modern Frenchay Campus
You’ll spend most of your time on campus, typically three days per week, with the opportunity to work from home on the remaining days. You should expect to have most of your time on campus during your induction period.
