Are you interested in advancing world leading research in additive manufacturing through a range of impressive metallic AM processing equipment?
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the rapidly growing AMRC group as Technical Fellow - Additive Manufacturing. This role is based at the new AMRC North West facility on the Samlesbury Enterprise Zone near Blackburn.
This Technical Fellow role involves leading a core technology area and research team at AMRC NW: Additive Manufacturing. You will take full accountability for technical results from projects including building, process simulation, material characterization, process monitoring/control, testing/validation, AM processes, and post-processes like heat treatments, machining, and surface finishing. The role includes line management of technical leads and project engineers working on various additive manufacturing technology development efforts. A key part of the position is guiding the technical direction of the team while ensuring projects are delivered effectively. You will coordinate project prioritization, setup, execution, and closure. Additionally, you will advise on technical issues across multiple additive manufacturing methods. You are encouraged to develop a balanced pipeline of research initiatives and expand the order book in future years. Delivering projects to a high technical standard is essential to uphold the AMRC’s international reputation.
You should have a proven history of successful technical delivery when leading development projects and be able to manage industrial and government partners. Your previous work should show your ability to lead people and prioritize resources across various projects to meet the group’s technical goals. Your integrity should match the standards expected for managing a large, international portfolio, with several projects running at the same time.
We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching and student experience.
