CEG Digital wishes to engage the services of a self-employed contractor as an Online Tutor for our MA in Creative Marketing and Branding, running in partnership with the University of Southampton. We are looking for candidates with experience of teaching and marking in higher education (ideally at postgraduate level) and a master’s or PhD qualification in a creative marketing and branding-related field.
The Online Tutor plays a role in the success and vibrancy of the University’s online programmes and are an academic presence in the modules to which they are assigned. They are usually the first point of contact for academic queries from students. Each Online Tutor will have a group of up to 30 students. During a typical week, the Online Tutor will lead a 1-hour online webinar, engage with students through various asynchronous online activities and respond and triage student queries. Online Tutors also first-mark summative assessments in-line with the University’s assessment regulations.
This is a flexible, part-time, role. Note that there will be key dates and contact points you will be required to adhere to which are driven by assessment dates in the course calendar. Full details will be provided prior to the start of the module. Modules last 7 weeks followed by 2-3 weeks of marking. Deferral and referral assignments may need to be marked in the following study block.
The Programme
In a world where creativity fuels both commerce and culture, the Online MA Marketing and Branding offers a dynamic and forward-thinking approach to strategic communications, brand development, and market innovation. This programme is designed to equip students with the critical knowledge and practical skills needed to thrive in the fast-paced, global marketing landscape.
Students can choose to follow the main programme or specialise through one of two alternative pathways: Digital Campaigns or Global Advertising.
The Module
Principles of Creative Marketing and Branding
Marketing is both a creative and commercial process, and contemporary marketing and branding requires highly creative and engaging consumer-centric strategies to achieve differentiation in highly competitive markets. This module will introduce students to the role and scope of contemporary, innovative, and creative marketing and branding within the business and market environment. Students will acquire knowledge and understanding of the key principles, concepts, and frameworks of marketing, and be introduced to the concept of brand and branding. Students will learn how to analyse and interpret the marketing environment conditions such as economic growth, industry competitors, cultural and societal trends and consumer behaviour, and how to use that analysis to successfully develop dynamic, creative, and innovative strategies, to create and maintain brand value.
