The purpose of the role
The post holder is required to have an awareness of university organisational systems, particularly having regard to programme timetabling, academic staff roles and responsibilities and college policies and procedures. The post holder is required to be familiar with HSE (Health Service Executive) strategic and policy direction, and with issues arising within a range of service delivery systems. This includes a working knowledge of a large number of Psychology Services across the public and voluntary sectors, their location, personnel, and key organisational issues. The generic nature of training is such that the post holder would be required to possess knowledge of multiple organisational and professional contexts and in respect of several client groups.
The Clinical Coordinator will work with the academic staff of the University, trainee line managers and clinical supervisors to provide professional training across the Dublin/East region of the HSE. The Clinical Coordinator will develop, implement, and research quality initiatives in clinical practice education for Clinical Psychology.
The role requires advanced theoretical and practical knowledge, the ability to teach staff groups, high level communication skills, the ability to make judgements based on highly complex facts, and the planning and organisation of a broad range of complex activities.
