Applications are invited for an appointment as permanent Lecturer in Geography (Environmental Research Methods), (Type B, 1 FTE) at University of Galway.  The Lecturer will contribute to developing and promoting scholarship in the strongly-emerging field of environmental research and sustainability studies linked particularly to climate change and human impacts on the environment, with particular emphasis on marine/terrestrial systematic conservation planning. They will be responsible for the design and delivery of teaching on environmental research methods including environmental monitoring, geospatial data analysis and modelling and GIS (including QGIS and R programming) designed to meet interdisciplinary as well as Geography requirements.

Salary: €64,903 to €103,538 p.a (applicable to new entrants effective from January, 2011)
