Do you thrive in a fast-paced operational environment where no two days are the same? The Department of Medicine is seeking a proactive Laboratory & Facilities Coordinator to oversee day-to-day operations within our embedded research spaces and offices at Cambridge University Hospitals.
This key role ensures the safe, efficient and compliant running of CL2 and CL3 (training for CL3 can be given) laboratories, supporting world class research and teaching on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. As Deputy to the Department Laboratory & Facilities Manager, you'll lead a small team, manage procurement and operational budgets, maintain high safety standards, and ensure continuity of service through participation in an on-call rota. You'll also play an important part in emergency response team, incident management and continuous improvement of our laboratory infrastructure.
You'll work closely with Estates teams, NHS partners, contractors and research groups to keep facilities running smoothly and to support the delivery of cutting-edge biomedical science. This includes contributing to minor works projects, equipment lifecycle management and maintaining accurate compliance documentation.

The role holder will be required to hold on-call duties (compensated) on a rotational basis. They must be able to report to the site within 30 minutes for out-of-hours emergencies.
