The Cambridge Journal of Anthropology, based at the Department of Social Anthropology, University of Cambridge, wishes to appoint an Editorial Assistant to join a busy and friendly administration team. The fixed-term, part-time role is for 4 hours per week, from August 2026 until 31 May 2029, due to limited funding.
The Editorial Assistant will coordinate administrative support for the Cambridge Journal of Anthropology. They will ensure smooth and effective support for the production process of the journal as well as liaising with key stakeholders as necessary including the Editors of the journal, authors, peer reviewers and the journal publisher. They will provide general administrative support for the journal, including for meetings and finance processing, as well as coordinating the support needed for outreach, publicity, communications and events relating to the journal.
The role holder should have experience of administration and a degree in a relevant discipline, be organised and be able to show a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. As the key contact for queries relating to the Journal it is essential the role holder has excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to use social media and promotional channels as well as experience of publishing software is desirable.
