The University of Wolverhampton is advancing its 2035 Strategy with a strong focus on transformative impact across Health & Social Care, Sustainability and Inclusive Communities. A key priority within this strategy is the establishment of the Black Country Medical School, representing a major investment in medical education for the benefit of the West Midlands and the wider NHS.
We are seeking to appoint an exceptional Phase I Lead to oversee Years 1 and 2 of our new MBChB programme. This senior academic leadership role offers a unique opportunity to shape the early stages of an innovative medical curriculum and contribute to securing Primary Medical Qualification (PMQ) awarding rights. Working closely with the Dean of Medicine and the Head of School, you will help bring our vision for medical education to life.
You will lead the delivery of the curriculum in line with GMC requirements, manage and support academic staff, ensure high quality teaching, assessment and student support, and collaborate with our contingency school, Aston Medical School, to maintain curriculum alignment while helping to build a distinctive identity for the Black Country Medical School.
As a key member of the School’s leadership team, you will champion an inclusive, ambitious and supportive culture that reflects our University values: Accountable, Resilient, Inclusive and Ambitious.
This is a full time role; however, clinically qualified applicants may be considered at 0.8 WTE to support continued clinical practice.
