RGU is an innovative, inclusive, and ambitious University, focused on the impact of its demand-led teaching and research.
The School of Health is a vibrant academic community and the main provider of both undergraduate and postgraduate nursing, midwifery and AHP's in the North of Scotland. Our vision is to transform health and social care in urban, remote and rural areas and our new School Strategy sets out how we will achieve that.
As a Lecturer in Nursing, you will join a motivated team of academics, providing support for teaching and learning across the School. With knowledge, experience, and skills as well as a degree in a relevant subject, you will be expected to contribute to the School’s undergraduate and postgraduate nursing portfolio. Opportunities to contribute to teaching and assessment on related courses both within the School of Health and the wider University reflect the inter-professional approach which is required of the successful candidate.
You will be a committed and motivated professional, you should have excellent communication and teaching skills and be able to motivate and inspire students. Experience in Adult and/or Occupational Health and/or Advanced Practice Nursing is desirable.
All our education is evidence based and we encourage curiosity and innovation in our staff to enhance our academic portfolio. You will be supported to identify and actively engage in scholarship and research activities. Development of a personal research profile and contribution to applied health research or educational research is an expectation of all academic staff. Additionally, you may also be involved in the School’s commercialisation activities.
In keeping with RGU's commitment to work/life balance you will have the opportunity to work from home for a portion of the working week, but you must be in a position to deliver teaching on campus to meet the requirements of the course. You also will benefit from a generous pension scheme, 46 days annual leave, onsite nursery, sports centre as well as a range of voluntary health and travel benefits.
