We seek to appoint a Research Associate with expertise in chemometrics and process analytics. You will form part of an interdisciplinary team within an Innovate UK project developing novel photonics-based process analytical technology solutions to improve the sustainability of medicines manufacturing processes.

The Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry is seeking to appoint a Research Associate with expertise in chemometrics and process analytics. You will form part of an interdisciplinary team of scientists and engineers within an Innovate UK Sustainable Medicines Manufacturing Innovation Programme Grand Challenge project: ‘Integrated Spectroscopy and Photonics for Increased Productivity and Resource Efficiency in Medicines Manufacture (InSPIREmed)’. You will possess a PhD or equivalent in chemometrics, process analytical chemistry, process control, analytical science, chemistry, chemical engineering, physics or a related field. You will have experience in developing chemometrics models using spectroscopic data for on-line process monitoring and control. You will work closely with industrial partners, research and technology organisations and regulatory experts to develop and implement data analytics protocols and chemometric models for on-line monitoring and control of medicines manufacturing processes. The post is available for up to 3 years.
