About the role

Two Postdoctoral Research Associate positions are available at the Robot Perception Lab led by Dr Shan Luo at the Department of Engineering, King’s College London. The initial contract will be for three years, with the possibility of extension. You will work on a project to design robot equipped with vision and tactile sensing for diverse manipulation tasks. 

The project is funded by the UKRI EPSRC through Dr Shan Luo’s Open Fellowship, TacDiff, which develops a new paradigm for data-driven design of tactile robots using differentiable simulations that provide fine-grained feedback for training. The research will be conducted in collaboration with colleagues from King’s College London, international collaborators at MIT, TUM, UCSD and industrial partners of the project, including Unilever, Shadow Robot Company, Ocado Technology and MathWorks. This is a full time post, and you will be offered an a fixed term contract for three years with the potential for an extension.
