The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a fixed term (3 years) Lecturer in Prosthetics and Orthotics in the School of Allied Health Professions and Pharmacy, within the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. We seek to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Orthotist to teach within 2-year pre-registration Master’s programme. The School offers high quality undergraduate and postgraduate provision and is part of a wider research community integrated within Schools and the Faculty. We are particularly seeking those candidates with a strong clinical background in Orthotics. Those new to teaching will be welcome to apply and will be required to undertake a teaching certification (if not already held).
MSc Prosthetics and Orthotics programme has proudly and consistently graduated high quality practitioners. Students and staff enjoy excellent facilities, including a bespoke workshop, practical facilities and gait laboratory. Students also all have inter-professional educational opportunities with other Faculty of Medicine and Health Science students. Our programme works closely with NHS and Private partners, Industrial partners, expert patients and our professional body, BAPO. These opportunities offer exciting prospects to individuals wishing to further their scholarship and research activities as well as widen their teaching and learning skills.
