The Qing Laboratory at Oxford is recruiting postdoctoral researchers (multiple positions available) to join a Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation–funded programme focused on developing innovative sensing platforms for detecting volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in biological samples. This work forms part of a wider multidisciplinary collaboration, Decoding Olfaction, involving leading academic and industrial partners.
Our research combines chemical biology and biophysics to advance protein nanopore technologies for single-molecule sensing, with the long-term goal of enabling new approaches to personalised and continuous health monitoring.
We are looking for motivated researchers with a PhD (or near completion) in chemistry, chemical biology, biochemistry, biophysics, or a related field, who are interested in working across disciplines and developing new experimental and analytical approaches. Experience in areas such as supramolecular or covalent chemistry, or single-molecule biophysics, would be advantageous.
The position is available initially for one year, with the possibility of extension. If you are interested in contributing to cutting-edge research in a collaborative and dynamic environment, please get in touch to discuss the opportunity.
The closing date for applications is 12 noon on 15 April 2026, please upload a CV and supporting statement as part of your online application
