About the role
Join us as a Student Records Officer and play a key part in supporting the student journey at Imperial. You’ll take responsibility for maintaining accurate student records within Banner throughout the full academic lifecycle, ensuring data quality and resolving inconsistencies.
You’ll provide expert operational support to departments, advising on complex student lifecycle processes—from registration to graduation—across all programme types. Working within regulatory frameworks and alongside senior colleagues, you’ll help ensure decisions are correctly implemented and communicated.
You will also lead core business‑as‑usual processes including module registration, interruptions, withdrawals, rollover and bulk updates, while contributing to continuous improvements and project work.
What you would be doing
In this role, you’ll take ownership of student data, managing and updating large datasets to ensure records remain accurate, consistent and complete throughout the academic year. You’ll monitor data trends, investigate issues and apply your insight to support key points in the academic cycle.
Departments will turn to you when student circumstances change—such as transfers, interruptions or module choices. You’ll ensure records are updated correctly, aligned with regulations and supported by clear documentation. You’ll work closely with staff and students, filling data gaps and offering clear, reliable guidance to internal and external stakeholders.
You’ll support major annual processes such as re‑enrolment and rollover, helping ensure each student’s progression is recorded accurately. Alongside BAU tasks, you’ll be part of wider process improvement work that shapes the student experience.
You will also contribute to broader Registry activity, including graduation and certificate production. Collaboration across teams, supporting peak workloads and developing your skills—particularly in data tools like Excel—will be key parts of your role.
