Job description:
Are you passionate about using Computer Vision, Machine Vision, and AI to solve real-world problems? At the University of Sheffield’s Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC), we are offering a unique opportunity to apply your technical skills to transform the future of high-value manufacturing.
As a Project Engineer in our Integrated Manufacturing Group (IMG), you will be at the forefront of research and innovation. You will work with cutting-edge technologies, developing solutions that improve productivity, quality and sustainability for manufacturers both large and small. Supported by experienced colleagues, you will experiment, problem-solve, and translate research into impact.
You will gain hands-on experience across computer vision system design, artificial intelligence and programming. Working alongside a diverse, multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate with both academic and industrial partners. You will also have opportunities to attend conferences, explore emerging technologies, and grow your expertise while helping the UK manufacturing sector thrive.
This is a role for someone who enjoys challenging “the norm”, trying new approaches, and working collaboratively to solve technical challenges. Whether you are early in your career or bringing industrial experience, what matters most is your motivation, curiosity, and drive to make an impact.
What’s on offer?
The Integrated Manufacturing Group (IMG) is internationally recognised for driving innovation in robotics, automation and AI. You will be working in a collaborative environment where your ideas are valued, your contribution makes a difference, and your development is supported. Together, we are building the future of sustainable, high-value manufacturing in the UK.
We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to the greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research and innovation.
If this sounds like the opportunity you have been looking for, we would love to hear from you! Send us your application and take the next step in shaping the future of manufacturing with us!
We will ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodation to participate in the job application or interview process, to perform essential job functions, and to receive other benefits and privileges of employment. Please contact us to request accommodation.
