Hours: Full Time
Contract Type: Permanent

The University of Greater Manchester is committed to delivering high-quality, well-governed higher education across our expanding global network. Our Off Campus Division is looking for a strategic yet hands-on Lead for Quality and Compliance to be the primary point of oversight at our dedicated London partner centre.

The Role

As the Lead for Quality and Compliance, you will be responsible for the operationalisation of key quality functions and the implementation of our ATLAS Strategy (Admissions, Teaching, Learning, Assessment and Student Support) within your portfolio. You will ensure that academic standards are not just met, but excelled upon, providing a seamless bridge between the University’s core regulations and partner-led delivery.

This is an office-based role in London that requires a leader capable of managing people, academic quality, and commercial negotiations simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Implementation: Embed the ATLAS Strategy across all partner operations, ensuring alignment with University Academic Regulations and statutory requirements.
  • Academic Governance: Chair key portfolio meetings, including Examination Boards, Partnership Development Meetings, and Academic Misconduct Panels.
  • Quality Oversight: Manage the recruitment and performance of Link Tutors, External Examiners, and Local Tutors to maintain high instructional standards.
  • Operational Management: Oversee timetabling, module allocation, and the management of academic staff and teaching delivery within the partner centre.
  • Risk & Performance: Conduct strategic analysis and risk management to improve student recruitment, retention, and destinations.
  • KPI Management: Coordinate and administer key performance indicators, including the National Student Survey (NSS), to identify best practices and mitigate risks.
  • Collaboration: Maintain a collegiate and inclusive culture across the partnership, providing expert advice to the Head of the Off Campus Division.

About You

  • Qualifications: You hold a relevant Master’s degree. A teaching qualification or HEA Fellowship (or willingness to obtain one) is highly desirable.
  • Technical Expertise: You have a proven track record in quality assurance oversight, including programme development and the chairing of assessment boards.
  • Strategic Mindset: You can analyse complex issues, interpret detailed regulations, and motivate teams to meet rigorous deadlines.
  • Communication: You are an excellent communicator, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels and across different cultural backgrounds.

Logistics and Travel

While this role is predominantly based at our London partner office, it remains an integral part of the wider University team. A willingness to travel to Bolton once a month for team meetings and staff development is essential. National and international travel may also be required to meet service needs.
