This full-time (1.0 FTE) role is available from 01/06/2026 on a permanent basis.
Summary of the role:
We are pleased to offer this full-time position, supporting teaching and research as part of the wider Technical Strategy and Operations team for the Penryn Campus. Reporting to the local Technical Operations Manager, the role will cover a range of disciplines across the faculty including Geography, Geology, Ecology and Conservation, Mining and Engineering.
The role will be varied and fast paced. There will be a requirement to undertake daily tasks to support staff and students across all areas including sterilisation or equipment and waste, chemical handling and sample preparation, as well as specialist teaching or research support.
Examples of support you will offer include setting up practicals, demonstrating lab and field techniques, organising field kit for international field trips, maintaining insect populations and fish stocks, making media, sorting sediment samples, preparing polished mounts and thin sections for microscopy.
Training will be given on all specialist items of equipment you will be required to use in the laboratories as well as the opportunity to attend training relating to your role and future aspirations.
