About the role
Bodleian Digital Library Systems and Services (BDLSS) delivers digital services supporting research, teaching and global access to the University’s collections. In this role, you will manage a varied portfolio of digital research and service development projects that contribute to the Bodleian Libraries’ strategic programme and the University’s digital transformation. Projects may include academic-led research, digital platforms, and service improvements using bespoke, open-source or third-party systems.
You will lead projects through the full lifecycle, ensuring delivery to agreed time, budget and quality standards. Working in a matrix environment, you will task-manage multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with academics and stakeholders across the University.
You will apply appropriate project management methodologies, manage risks and resources, and communicate progress clearly to stakeholders and project boards. You will also support stakeholder engagement and contribute to sharing project outcomes.
This is a full-time, fixed-term post for 3 years. This role supports remote working for 2-3 days per week.
About You
You will have proven experience delivering complex projects on time and within budget, ideally in a technical or academic environment. You will be confident managing application development projects and working with technical teams to deliver effective solutions.
You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders. You will be highly organised, able to manage competing priorities, and bring strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.
You will have experience managing budgets and resources, and a collaborative approach to leading multidisciplinary teams. Experience of Agile methods, Prince2 or similar qualifications, and knowledge of digital research or library environments would be advantageous.
