Senior Marketing Executive – Subject Marketing (Social Science Journals)

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Academic Marketing team as a Senior Marketing Executive, supporting a portfolio of social science journals. This role offers the opportunity to deliver meaningful marketing activity that supports research and learning worldwide, while developing your skills and experience in a collaborative, forward‑thinking academic publishing environment.


About the role

As a Senior Marketing Executive, you will be responsible for planning, delivering and evaluating marketing activity for a defined journals portfolio. You will work closely with Editorial teams and key stakeholders to ensure campaigns support agreed publishing, usage and engagement objectives.

You will be accountable for delivering marketing campaigns on time, within budget, and for providing clear reporting on performance and outcomes.

Additional responsibilities and accountabilities include:

  • Planning and delivering integrated marketing campaigns across email, digital and social channels
  • Evaluating campaign performance using analytics, usage and engagement data
  • Managing priorities and workloads to meet agreed deadlines and objectives
  • Working collaboratively with Editorial teams and other internal stakeholders
  • Supporting the growth and maintenance of marketing contact lists for priority audiences
  • Representing Cambridge University Press & Assessment at relevant meetings or events, as required

This position has been classified as a hybrid role, requiring the selected candidate to typically spend 40-60% of their time collaborating and connecting face-to-face at their dedicated location. Aside from our hybrid principles, other flexible working requests will be considered from the first day of employment, including other work arrangements should you require adjustments due to a disability or long-term health condition.   

About You

You are a confident and well‑organised marketer with experience delivering campaigns across digital channels and working collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.

Essential criteria:

  • Proven experience planning, delivering and evaluating marketing campaigns across multiple channels, including email and digital
  • Ability to use analytics and performance data to evaluate campaign effectiveness and report on outcomes
  • Experience working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders across teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisation, prioritisation and time‑management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines

  • Experience marketing journals or academic content

  • A professional marketing qualification or equivalent experience
