Background of department/role

Join the dynamic Strategic Planning and Insight directorate, where you'll play a key role in shaping the future of our institution, including development of the integrated business planning cycle. As part of the School Executive Services team, you will be one of four Business and Planning Partners working together to ensure consistent process and effective use of data across the schools. Initially supporting the School of Social Work, Education and Teacher Education with line management responsibility for a School Executive Service Manager.

Working closely with the Dean of School and their senior leadership team you will:

  • Lead business case developments and scenario planning
  • Co-ordinate the Annual Business planning cycle including Student Number planning and support for budget development
  • To ensure effective co-ordination of school contracts and contract management with the Dean of School to ensure effective planning, business and operations.
  • To engage with cross-functional teams and working groups to support the development of business cases including portfolio development, digital and estates proposals in support of School priorities and workforce planning. 
  • To engage with external stakeholders, including the School Industry Advisory Board where applicable, to drive the effective delivery of School outcomes and ensure alignment with university priorities.

Within the Strategic Planning and Insight directorate working across the institution to co-ordinate and develop Strategic Planning cycle including support for central service departments, Student Number Planning and leading institutional Change Portfolio activities including the Continuous Improvement community of practice.
