We have an exciting opportunity in the School of Chemical and Biological Engineering for an Engineering Support Technician to join our technical support team. We’re looking for a proactive individual to support the School’s teaching and research activities by providing an effective and efficient technical service in the field general laboratory management and laboratory analytical and characterisation techniques.
This will include supporting undergraduate and postgraduate student projects as well as a range of academic research projects. You will adopt high working standards and have the ambition to grow and develop your laboratory based technical skills to ensure the School’s technical team continues to be recognized for its service excellence and exemplary Health and Safety record. The successful candidate will have a HNC in an engineering or science based subject (or have equivalent work related experience in this field), with proven experience in operation and maintenance of analytical/characterisation equipment. You will have knowledge of safe working practices and experience of applying Health and Safety in workshop and laboratory environments and the ability to communicate technical information clearly and succinctly to a wide variety of stakeholders.
