Background – Centre for Software Reliability (CSR) is a research centre established in 1983. CSR’s central focus has been on the evaluation and assurance of complex digital systems. Assurance 2.0 approach to assurance (safety, security, dependability…) cases provides a framework for reasoning and communicating about the trustworthiness of systems. There is a need to consolidate the Assurance 2.0 research while and there is funding opportunity within balances from two research projects.
Responsibilities – The main responsibilities of the role are to consolidate the resources and support the research on Assurance 2.0 and its application. Assurance 2.0 has been developed, in part, under programmes of work for Intel and the Artificial Intelligence Security Institute (AiSi)
Person Specification – We are seeking to appoint and experiences Post Doc researcher in Assurance Cases (structuring of arguments, confidence propagation, automation). The successful applicant should have experience of industrial application of assurance cases using claims, arguments, evidence; have academic publications or other research outputs related to assurance, and has experience of teaching to postgraduate students in topics of assurance.
