The City Law School has the largest single cohort for Bar training delivering the very highest quality legal education to over 400 students each year from the UK and around the world. We are based in Clerkenwell in a modern, architect-designed building with access to cutting edge technology and facilities.

The City Law School is seeking to appoint full-time Lecturers/Senior Lecturers, and/or part-time Lecturers/Senior Lecturers who are able to offer a minimum of 3 days per week, to join our exceptional team on the Bar Vocational Studies course. We are looking for qualified barristers with first-hand experience of professional practice in England and Wales. Previous experience of teaching is desirable but not essential as training will be provided to the successful candidates. We require individuals who can deliver knowledge and skills, including advocacy, on the Civil and/or Criminal parts of the course. Applications are welcome from all areas of practice in particular, crime.

Teaching on the BVS mostly takes place between September and March and marking between February and September. The City Law School encourages and suppo rts BVS tutors to maintain active links with the Professions subject to teaching commitments. There is a significant number of individuals in the team who enjoy the benefits of a stimulating and rewarding career at City alongside maintaining a practice or a part-time judicial appointment.
