** Background
The Library AI Transformation Manager will be responsible for evaluation, implanting and overseeing AI-powered tools and platforms in the library, developing policies around ethical AI use, supp orting library colleagues to implement AI tools into the teaching, learning and research initiatives across the university.
They will lead the development of AI-based research services at the library, actively engaging with university partners. Core activities will include raising awareness of appropriate AI tools and technologies and supporting Library staff in growing their knowledge.
** Responsibilities
The AI Librarian will provide support and training to academics and researchers on the application of AI in various research contexts and assist in the development and implementation of AI-related policies, procedures, and workflows at the library and university levels.
Further responsibilities will involve the evaluation and piloting of technologies that support Academic Services in delivering teaching and learning and improving the student experience. They will keep informed about the evolving landscape of AI ethics, policies and regu lation, including copyright bias and transparency.
** Person Specification
The postholder will possess a knowledge and understanding of developments of AI in libraries and have experience of the ethical, legal and social implications of AI, particularly in a research context. They will have excellent communication and influencing skills and the ability to build effect relationships at all levels of the university.
This person will have experience of contributing to planning and policy development and the ability to use feedback and data to improve services.
