The programme promotes criticality, and reflective practice as a means of developing confident, creative and highly competent secondary (11-18) teachers. The successful candidate will show the desire and capacity to play a full and active part in the life of the School.

You should apply if
You will have a good Honours degree in History, or closely related degree, and a PGCE (or equivalent) in secondary education.
You will need to have a full driving licence to accommodate visiting students at their placement schools.

Ideally, you will also have a Master’s or Doctorate degree in a relevant discipline. It would also be desirable to have successful experience of initial teacher education in History, school-based mentoring of students or mentoring trainee teachers/ECTs; in-depth understanding of particular areas of scholarship and practice of secondary History education in the UK; and experience of scholarly activity related to initial teacher education.
