The Nuffield Department of Population Health undertakes world-leading research into long term, chronic health conditions, operating large-scale long-term studies and projects to identify the causes, prevention and treatment of diseases that result in avoidable suffering for millions of people around the world. The administrative teams are closely integrated within the department and work with all levels of staff who are committed to the research and teaching undertaken.
We are seeking a Senior Finance Officer to ensure effective procedures are documented and adopted for dealing with all aspects of financial administration with an emphasis on Purchase to Pay (P2P) and expenses.
As a Senior Finance Officer, you will manage a team of Accounts Officers, establishing strong working relationships, managing workloads, tasks and deadlines, developing the team and monitoring performance. You will ensure all financial transactions are carried out in accordance with the University’s Finance regulations, policies, and procedures, as well as ensuring compliance with all necessary external regulations and requirements. You will also supervise the processing of Oracle financial transactions; requisitions, purchase orders, receipting of goods, payment of invoices and, ensure these have the necessary backing documentation and are properly coded
To succeed, you will need previous experience in a finance role, preferably within higher education or a large institutional setting. You should have significant relevant expertise in ERP Financial systems and financial experience, dealing with a wide range of people, financial transactions and systems.
This role is based in Oxford, and offered on a full-time basis. It is a fixed term post for 2 years in the first instance.
