CSGUoL and Vivacom Ltd are recruiting for a candidate to develop novel network routers and algorithms that embed post quantum level security capability to safeguard against future cyber-security threats.
Vivacom's core business is delivering private, secure connectivity solutions to enterprise clients across the UK. The company specialises in fully managed Software Defined Wide Area Networks (SD-WAN), integrating advanced 5G, Wi-Fi, and emerging quantum-secure networking to help organisations modernise their infrastructure.
The Associate will be challenged to rapidly gain familiarity with Vivacom’s SDN and control and data planes, as well as Wi-Fi 6 and 5G protocol stacks, analysis of classical protocols and post-quantum vulnerability assessment.
Specifically, the candidate will develop and implement cryptographic protocols, deploy and test NIST standardised PQC algorithms, collect sufficient data to develop a Cryptographic Bill of Material, and configure open-source environments (e.g. Wi-Fi boxes).
We are looking for a candidate with an MSc or other Higher Degree in Computer Science, with a focus on post quantum cryptography. Knowledge of classical cryptographic algorithms and post quantum cryptographic algorithms is essential, as is experience in developing risk discovery and management of quantum security deployment.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of signature schemes for PQC, QKD systems and QKD key management, as well as experience of commercial hardware configuration and deployment and experience of software and hardware test case development.
