About us

We’re entering a significant new phase of development. With our Access and Participation Plan (APP) approved and our continued progress towards Degree Awarding Powers (DAPs), we’re strengthening our infrastructure to ensure that every student is supported to succeed; academically, professionally, and personally.

Our vision is rooted in widening access to the psychological professions and creating an inclusive, values-led learning environment. We’re committed to supporting a diverse student body and ensuring that all students, particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds, can thrive.

The opportunity

We’re seeking a Head of Student Experience to lead the coordination, development, and continuous improvement of our student support services.

This is a newly strengthened role, created to bring greater coherence, clarity, and impact across our student-facing provision. You’ll play a central role in ensuring that our services are well-organised, accessible, and aligned to student need, supporting students from entry through to completion and progression.

Working within a clear strategic framework, you’ll have the autonomy to shape how services are delivered in practice, ensuring they’re joined-up, effective, and demonstrably contributing to student success.

About this role

You’ll lead a multi-disciplinary team spanning:

  • Wellbeing and disability support
  • Careers and employability
  • Academic skills support
  • Library services
  • Academic coordination

Your focus will be to:

  • Integrate services into a coherent and accessible student support offer
  • Establish clear processes, pathways, and service standards
  • Develop and implement measurable outcomes and KPIs
  • Strengthen the student experience across the full lifecycle
  • Ensure services actively support our Access and Participation commitments
  • Oversee effective approaches to student wellbeing, safeguarding, and inclusion

You’ll work closely with colleagues across the organisation to ensure that student support is understood, utilised, and continuously improved.

Recruitment process

Please read through the following:

If you feel you have all the necessary experience, skills and align with our values and mission, applying using our online Application Form or clicking the 'Apply' button above.

The hiring manager will then assess what you’ve written against the job role and person specification requirements, and you’ll be advised if you’ve been invited to the next stage of the process.

This role will initially report directly to the CEO, reflecting the importance of student experience to the organisation at this stage of development. If you’d like to arrange an informal conversation, please contact people@metanoia.ac.uk.

Closing date

23:59 on Thursday 30 April 2026

Indicative timeline

Interview stage one is scheduled for week commencing 11 May 2026.

Commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging

As an organisation founded with social justice at its core, we welcome applications from everyone regardless of age, gender, gender identity, gender expression, ethnicity, sexual orientation, faith or disability.
