About the Role

Are you an administrative professional with a keen eye for detail? We have an exciting opportunity for an Insurance, Audit & Risk Officer to join our well-regarded Assurance Compliance and Risk team.

Providing core services to the university-wide operations, our unit acts as a vital enabling service. You will play a key role in supporting all University activities, ensuring colleagues understand their insurance obligations and that essential cover is in place for new or evolving projects. You will also contribute to University-wide preparedness for serious incidents, offering a unique and fascinating insight into the full breadth of our institutional operations.

Working Pattern

We are committed to work-life balance and offer a 0.8 FTE contract (29.2 hours per week). We are open to discussing flexible patterns, including:

  • 5 Days: approx. 5.8 hours per day (Monday–Friday).
  • 4 Days: approx. 7.3 hours per day.

About You

We are looking for a proactive individual with a proven track record in service delivery and administrative support. To thrive in this role, you will need:

  • An insurance qualification or the willingness to work towards.
  • An understanding of insurance principles: an ability to interpret policy wordings, and to work collaboratively with insurance brokers.
  • Excellent Communication: The ability to build relationships and convey requirements clearly to colleagues at all levels.
  • Strong Organisation: Capability to manage varied administrative tasks accurately and within deadlines.
  • Collaborative Spirit: A desire to work within a supportive, high-performing team environment.

Our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Commitment

We are committed to ensuring reasonable adjustments are available for interviews and workplaces.

Whilst all applicants will be judged on merit alone, we particularly welcome applications from groups currently underrepresented within our working community.

With over 30,000 students and 7,000 staff from 150 different countries we offer a diverse and engaging environment where our diversity is celebrated and valued as a major strength. We are committed to creating an inclusive culture where all members of our community are supported to thrive; where diverse voices are heard through our engagement with evidence-based charter frameworks for gender (Athena SWAN and Project Juno for Physics), race equality (Race Equality Charter Mark), LGBTQ+ inclusion (Stonewall Diversity Champion) and as a Disability Confident employer.

We are proud signatories of the Armed Forces Covenant and welcome applications from service people.

Benefits

We offer some fantastic benefits including:

  • 39 days leave per year
  • Options for flexible working
  • Numerous discounts at leading retailers
  • Onsite gyms on all of our campus’ and a cycle to work scheme
  • Sector leading policies around maternity, adoption and shared parental leave (up to 26 weeks full pay), paternity leave (up to 6 weeks full pay) and a Fertility Treatment Policy
