About the role:
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join Prof. Ramzi Khamis’ team in a research technician position funded by the Safwan Sobhan Programme. This position is available for 24 months.
Prof. Khamis is a Consultant Cardiologist and Reader at Imperial College London. His research team consists of clinicians and scientists, focusing on the targeting of oxidised-LDL, a key driver of atherosclerosis. We have developed antibodies that target oxidised-LDL and utilised them as imaging agents. In this post you will be responsible for managing a murine animal colony and conducting in vivo imaging in our murine model of atherosclerosis, and subsequent ex vivo analysis.
What you would be doing:
You will be based at the Imperial Centre for Translational and Experimental Medicine (ICTEM). You will be working on projects involving immunisation through anti-oxidised-LDL antibodies with in vivo imaging, immune biomarker determination from patient samples through ELISAs and immune cell isolation and culture for in vitro models of atherosclerosis.
