About the Role:
The School of Education sits within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities, Education and Social Sciences. We are a growing School with a diverse course portfolio. At Postgraduate level these include MA Education and PGCE, as well as doctoral level studies. Our Undergraduate provision includes Working with Children, Families and Communities, Early Childhood Studies and Primary Education Studies. Following our successful accreditation from the Department of Education, we have developed the first new BEd (Hons) Primary Education with QTS in the sector for 30 years.
We are looking to recruit a Senior Lecturer to our Initial Teacher Training team to start in September 2026. As a Senior Lecturer you will bring experience in primary schools, experience of mentoring trainees or ECTs, a passion for training the next generation of teachers in the Eastern region and a commitment to developing your own research portfolio.
In this role you will teach on the new BEd Primary Education with QTS course on our Chelmsford campus, upskill as a Lead Mentor under the new requirements for ITT and support school-based training for trainees. This is a great opportunity to be part of an exciting and busy ITT offer.
Informal enquiries can be made to Leanne Gray, Lead for ITT in Chelmsford, at leanne.gray@aru.ac.uk
We have an agile working culture and offer an extensive range of benefits including generous holiday entitlement, occupational pension schemes, training and development opportunities, travel to work scheme and a competitive relocation package. Visit our benefits page for full details.
