About the Role
The post-holder will contribute to the intellectual life of the School and wider institution and research field of Aerospace Engineering and related fields. They will make contributions to student education and experience through curriculum development and the delivery of teaching activities in the subject area of Aerospace Engineering and related fields, with particular interest in spacecraft engineering, aeroelasticity, flight dynamics, stability and control, and aircraft design and simulation.
In line with Queen Mary University of London policy, the post-holder will make important research contributions to the field; advance the research subject through publications, creative works or other forms of performance; deliver quality teaching including making innovations in key aspects of teaching and learning; contribute to the administration of School/Institute and University teaching and research activities; and maximise opportunities for public engagement in the subject.
About You
The successful candidate will have PhD in Aerospace Engineering or related, and / or relevant professional qualification and / or equivalent professional experience. They will also have an appropriate track record of high-quality research in the field of aerospace engineering and related fields at a national and ideally international level, including publications in renowned journals. An important part of the key skills is the ability to develop research proposals and secure external research funding, as well as subsequent effective award management. In addition, the successful candidate will be committed to high-quality teaching, understanding of student support needs, being able to provide guidance and signposting to specialist services where appropriate.

SEMS is a large, research-intensive School within the Faculty of Science and Engineering, comprising over 110 academic staff and a vibrant community of approximately 2,700 undergraduate and taught postgraduate students, alongside about 250 PhD researchers.
