Greater Manchester Business School is an innovative vocational business school with real-world experience and employability at its heart. Having piloted and transitioned to Greater Manchester Way block model for undergraduate programmes, the school has undergone significant transformation over the past two years with new student support initiatives implemented to improve student experience. Student attendance and achievements have risen as a result and we have grown our research programmes significantly. We deliver a range of business and accountancy programmes at all levels, from foundation and undergraduate to Masters and Higher level research degrees, with apprenticeships and executive education key areas of growth.
We are looking to recruit a Senior Lecturer who will support our wide portfolio of business courses. We are an applied Business School with a focus on equipping students to add value from day one in industry and we follow ‘teaching intensive, research informed’ principles. Knowledge exchange and feeding contemporary research into the curriculum is important, as are industry links which inform up to date theory and practice.
Registration with an appropriate professional body is desirable along with a first degree and preferably a teaching qualification. A commitment to undertaking or completing a PhD/DBA and membership of the Higher Education Academy is a requirement of our full-time roles.
Candidates with significant industry experience are particularly welcomed. Successful candidates will need to demonstrate up to date awareness of current developments within their specialist area as well as being able to nurture links between courses and real-life businesses.
We have a supportive and inclusive culture where innovation is encouraged.
Successful applicants will be required to prove their right to work in the UK prior to the commencement of their employment.
Whilst the University of Greater Manchester is a licensed sponsor, under UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) not all roles are eligible for visa sponsorship.
This position may not meet the criteria for a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).
Eligibility will be assessed in line with the Home Office requirements at the time of making the offer.
