The Fitzwilliam Museum: Opening up the past to transform our futures.
As the principal museum of the University of Cambridge and the largest cultural venue in the region, The Fitzwilliam Museum acts as a crucial bridge between the University, the City and the rest of the world, and has an international reputation for extraordinary research, world class exhibitions, award-winning public programmes and significant collections spanning many cultures and centuries. The Hamilton Kerr Institute (HKI) is one of the world's leading centres for teaching and research in conservation and heritage science.
We invite applications for an Events Coordinator to support the effective planning, coordination and delivery of internal stakeholder events and external commercial hires across the Museum. Working within the Events team and reporting to the Events Manager, the role will manage detailed event logistics from confirmation through to delivery, working closely with colleagues, clients and external suppliers.
The successful candidate will manage the detailed logistics of events from confirmation through to delivery, including finalising event spaces, producing schedules and event documentation, booking support staff, coordinating third-party suppliers (e.g. catering and AV), managing guest communications and overseeing on-the-day delivery. The role requires a high level of organisation, initiative and attention to detail to ensure events are delivered to a consistently high professional standard, within agreed budgets and aligned to commercial and reputational objectives. Where required, the postholder will deputise for the Events Manager to ensure continuity of planning, delivery and client relationship management.
In return, we offer a supportive and inclusive workplace, a generous pension scheme, substantial holiday allowance, and a range of employee benefits, including retail discounts.
