The School of Advanced Study

The School of Advanced Study is a nationally and internationally recognised centre of excellence in the promotion and facilitation of research in the Humanities and Social Sciences. It comprises eight internationally renowned research institutes as well as centres of excellence in Digital Humanities, Refugee Law and Public Engagement. It has four nationally and internationally recognised specialist research libraries.

The Role

The role covers a period of maternity leave for a fixed term of ten months.

This is a busy role sitting at the centre of Academic Events management, operations and facilitation. The School runs around 1400 events annually and the postholder manages the academic events and impact team who facilitate them. It requires excellent customer service skills; experience at academic liaison; systems expertise, experience of working cross the University and ability to instil confidence in our stakeholders. Budget and team management experience are desirable skills.

The University currently operates a Hybrid Working framework involving a mix of working remotely and in the office. Typically, the majority of employees will be able to agree to work remotely for up to 60% of their working week, role dependent, however will be required to attend on specific days for training or team meetings.
