The University of Huddersfield is a thriving institution with a modern campus and outstanding facilities, including the National Health Innovation Campus. We have a diverse student community and strong partnerships across the NHS, health and social care, and education sectors. Huddersfield is a vibrant town with access to beautiful countryside and convenient transport links to Manchester, Leeds and Sheffield. The University was awarded TEF Gold in 2023.
Our traditional degree route leads to a recognised speech and language therapy qualification. You will join a supportive team with opportunities for professional development, career progression, and collaboration with leading researchers and our public partnership group. The role includes contributing to teaching and learning, supporting student placements, and, where appropriate, supervising doctoral students.
Applicants should be engaging educators with a broad knowledge of contemporary speech and language therapy practice and research. You must hold appropriate professional qualifications in speech and language therapy, be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council, and have relevant post‑registration experience. Dysphagia training is desirable. A Master’s degree (or equivalent) is required, and you will be expected to register for doctoral study within 12 months of appointment. Candidates who are professionally qualified and who are currently completing Master’s‑level study with a clear pathway to Level 7 completion within the first year of employment may also be considered. Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy, or the ability to obtain it within 12 months, is essential.
This post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. Regular status checks may also be required, depending on your role.
