By joining the University of Lancashire, you’ll become part of a thriving community of talent that’s united by a shared vision – to transform the lives of our students and create prosperity and opportunity in the communities we serve. Every colleague has a vital role to play in helping us achieve this vision.
About the role:
This is a limited term 2 year post hosted by Global Ardour Recycling Limited and the University of Lancashire. The aim of the project is to reduce the quantity of hazardous waste going to landfill from motor vehicle dismantling and shredding of non-metallic parts such as upholstery and plastic components known as Automotive Shredder Residue (ASR). It has the potential to reduce overall landfill tonnage by finding alternative use for recoverable waste product.
This role will be based on site at Global Ardour Recycling Limited based in Preston.
About you:
We are looking for a candidate with demonstrable capability within either Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry or Chemical Engineering. You will be experienced in working with organic materials and have excellent presentation and communication skills to be able to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders.
You will need to have an undergraduate degree in a relevant area.
Use of AI in applications:
We want to understand your genuine interest in the role and artificial intelligence can be a useful tool to support your application. However, all examples and statements provided must be truthful, factually accurate and taken directly from your own experience and the written elements of your application should accurately reflect your own communication style. Applications that rely too heavily on AI tools can appear generic and lack the detail we need to assess your skills and experience.
What we can offer you:
We have a fantastic package of rewards and lifestyle benefits – from an attractive annual leave entitlement to access to a comprehensive employee benefits platform which includes a 24/7 online GP.
Our people are our most important asset. We’ll encourage you to make the most of your talents and continually develop your skills and knowledge. As well as realising your career ambitions, you’ll be making a positive difference to other people’s lives.
