About the Role

The TinyML UK Network is a new national network funded by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) through the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).

The network is led by Professor Eiman Kanjo (Nottingham Trent University), with co-leads Professor Geoff Merrett (University of Southampton) and Professor Pantelis Georgiou (Imperial College London).

TinyML focuses on running machine learning on small, low-power devices at the edge. This approach keeps data on the device, lowers energy consumption, reduces cost, supports privacy, enables continual learning, and allows real-time decision-making. The field is developing rapidly across academia and industry.

The network community spans expertise in neuromorphic computing, hardware and chip design, microelectronics, sensing, photonics, AI optimisation, semiconductors, algorithms, wireless systems, distributed technologies, and AI system integration. The network works closely with the EDGE AI FOUNDATION and builds on established UK and international community activity.

The network will:

  • Connect AI, hardware, embedded systems, and edge AI researchers across the UK
  • Build strong links with industry and global TinyML leaders
  • Run training activities, competitions, and events for students, researchers, and SMEs
  • Support real-world impact in health, sustainability, and security
  • Contribute to a UK roadmap for future TinyML research and skills

We are seeking a capable and proactive Project Manager to support the TinyML UK Network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the operational delivery of the TinyML UK Network
  • Support workshops, sandpits, training activities, and community events
  • Liaise with academic, industrial, public sector, and international partners
  • Work closely with the network leadership team and the wider consortium
  • Collaborate with related UKRI projects and another EPSRC-funded network
