About the Role
The Sport Science Department is seeking to appoint an outstanding Senior Lecturer in Sport Coaching to provide academic leadership for our BSc (Hons) Sport Science and Coaching course. The successful candidate will serve as the departmental lead for Sport Coaching, driving the development of our Sport Coaching provision and ensuring an excellent student experience and strong student outcomes.
You will be an effective communicator and collaborative academic leader who can work closely with colleagues across Sport Coaching and Sport Science. We welcome applicants from scholarship, practice, or research backgrounds. We wish to recruit someone with excellent knowledge of Sport Coaching theory and practice, a proven track record in designing and delivering innovative and evidence-informed coaching curricula, and a commitment to supporting the professional and academic development of students and colleagues.
You should have a passion for helping students achieve their potential and be able to demonstrate sustained excellence across your academic pathway. We value active, practice-based, and collaborative teaching and learning approaches that prepare students to become reflective and capable Sport Coaching practitioners.
The post holder will join a large, vibrant team of multidisciplinary Sport Scientists, who work within an inclusive and supportive culture. As a senior member of the department, you will play an important role in shaping our Sport Coaching provision, mentoring colleagues, and strengthening our partnerships with NTU Sport, local clubs, schools, national governing bodies, and coaching organisations.
