This role will be based at Bradford Royal Infirmary site with office space at the University campus and scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
Are you a fully qualified, ambitious and experienced pre-CCT doctor or dentist, nurse, allied health professional, pharmacist or healthcare scientist committed to the progression of clinical research and a career in academia? Would you like the opportunity to undertake a PhD and conduct innovative research to improve care for older adults? Do you want to receive research training whilst conducting a clinical research project in one of the UK’s leading research-intensive Universities?
We are inviting applications for a Clinical Doctoral Fellowship within the Academic Unit for Ageing and Stroke Research (ASR), located at Leeds Institute of Health Sciences and Bradford Institute for Health Research. Funded as part of a prestigious NIHR Research Professorship award, this exciting opportunity is ideal for a medical, dental, nursing, allied health professional, pharmacist or healthcare scientist passionate about improving care for older adults through innovative research.
The Clinical Doctoral Fellowship will focus on maximising independence for older people with frailty in the community, aligned with prioritisation of frailty in the NHS 10 Year Plan and as a global priority, with a forthcoming Lancet Commission on Frailty. The exact content of the Fellowship and a bespoke doctoral training plan will be developed with the successful candidate, drawing on collective expertise and through appropriate training courses to meet the needs of the individual clinical doctoral fellow. The successful candidate will join a vibrant cohort of PhD students in a highly interdisciplinary environment, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and networking in anticipation of a steep clinical academic career trajectory.
